Corinne Mozea: “Hope–A Very Powerful Word”

Photo Jul 20

Over the week we did many things, including going to worship. Each day we had worship. I felt God’s love and hope the most the second day of worship. This was Thursday. Thursday’s theme was “Hope Shakes Things Up.” In small group we got to talking about how hope is shaking things up. Our bible verses were Jeremiah 1:4-19 and Matthew 1:18-24. The Jeremiah scripture talked about how God had appointed Jeremiah to be a prophet and how Jeremiah had to have hope that God would help him do the miraculous works that God wanted him to do. The Matthew scripture talked about how Joseph and Mary were engaged but Mary was also pregnant. In this period of time this was a very bad thing. Mary had to have hope that everything would be okay and Joseph had to have hope that everything would be okay and that he wouldn’t embarrass Mary or himself. Joseph got his hope when the angel told him to keep Mary as his wife and that everything would be okay. This day I learned how Hope can give our life some twists and turns but if we have hope then we and going to be okay.

Throughout the week I also felt hope in music. I felt the most hope in the song My Lighthouse because it talked about how if we have hope in God he will always be there for us and he will always keep us safe. I also experienced God’s hope in small group because we were all open to each other and we were just able to feel Gods hope and love throughout the scriptures and personal experiences that we shared.

Now that I am back at home I will share my hope by helping out in my school, church and community, as well as telling people about God and how much hope you can have in him. Over this week I learned about what hope really means. Is a very powerful word and I don’t think that we always realize how powerful it actually is. My hope is that every one of us can go out with hope in God and know that everything will be okay as long as we have hope. Thank you. Amen.

Madeline Mozea: “I Saw Hope Happening’

Photo Jul 21-3About two weeks ago I went on an awesome trip to Maryville, Tennessee. The theme of the week was Hope is Happening. We sang great music. One of the songs that filled my heart whenever I sang it was Prince of Peace.

Since the theme is Hope is Happening, I was looking around wherever I went looking for where hope was working. I saw hope happening in small group. I also saw how God’s hope happened everyday when the pastors taught me more and more about God and Jesus. When I was at Montreat, I saw lots of different little groups and everyone was separate from each other. I hope that the people in God’s world will come together and not be separated into groups.

On Saturday the theme for that day was Hope in Action. One of the scriptures that day was Mark 2:1-12–the paralyzed man. It stood out to me because it showed me that hope can be found wherever you go, and I thought that was cool. How I will share the hope that I learned at Montreat with my family is whenever they need help I will help them and hopefully they will share hope with others as well.
