Kathy Riley, Interim Pastor |
Hello! I am the interim minister here at Crescent Springs Presbyterian Church, and
I am glad you have found your way to our website! I have served as an interim or
transitional minister in five PCSUA congregations and am very happy to be here at
CSPC. My first career is in clinical psychology, with a special focus on research
and clinical practice in aging and Alzheimer’s disease. I followed a growing sense
of call into the ordained ministry while my family and I were members at Maxwell
Street Presbyterian Church in Lexington, where we still live. My husband Scott and
I have two children, Elizabeth who is 24 and Andrew who is 22. After ten years of
combining my professional life as associate professor at the University of Kentucky
with my service as interim and designated minister, I moved into full time ministry
in 2102. I commute to Crescent Springs twice a week, including weekends and for two
days in the middle of each week.
I am excited about working with the congregation here at CSPC as we travel through
the interim time and prepare for the process of calling the next installed minister.
Through this intentional interim time, I will, of course, also focus on the daily
ministries of preaching and worship leadership, pastoral care, general church operations,
and all the missions and ministries of the congregation. I feel a strong sense of God’s
call to ministry at CSPC and look forward to meeting everyone who reads this webpage!
Please feel free to contact me at cspresby@gmail.com and anytime!
Grace and peace,
Kathy

Samuel Martin, Music Director |
Samuel Martin is a dynamic young artist who is
thrilled to join the vibrant community at Crescent
Springs Presbyterian Church. Born and raised in New
York, he moved to Pennsylvania when he was eight years
old and began music studies then. In addition to
piano lessons, he played the trumpet and sang in
school and community choral ensembles. He holds a
Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College and is a
Master of Music candidate at the College-Conservatory
of Music. Sam is passionate about music serving as a
vehicle for connecting people, places, ideas, and
emotions; this philosophy is present in all of his
work, and he looks forward to bringing it to CSPC.
