A letter from the Session:

If you are not moving forward, chances are good that you are losing ground! For a variety of reasons, a case can be made that CSPC has not been moving forward but pretty much trying to hold our own. As a result, while we have survived, we have lost ground in our overall objective of being a viable church that is pursuing the Great Ends of the Church
(Book of Order F-1.00304):
- the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
- the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
- the maintenance of divine worship;
- the preservation of the truth;
- the promotion of social righteousness;
- the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

Joyful Noise Music Camp Register Now!

CSPC is offering area children a week of musical fun at Joyful Noise. It meets each morning 9:30 to noon, Monday through Friday, July 11-15 for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Invite the neighborhood children to come along, too.

The joyful noise-makers will sing, play instruments, create their own simple instruments, learn about worship music and munch on music-themed snacks. Call director Becky Morrison to volunteer (341-4663) Click here to register.

News from United Ministries:

Looking Ahead For Learning:

Human Sexuality Classes - CSPC offers its middle school and high school youth a series of classes that explains human sexuality, using the curriculum “God’s Gift of Sexuality.” Erin Murphy (331-1201) is coordinating the classes, which will be July 18-22. If you would like to donate soda pop or snacks for break time during the classes, please add them to the basket in the Narthex.

Fall Sunday School - The Learning Committee is seeking a few more individuals to teach Sunday School classes. Our new Sunday School year will begin September 11, and teacher training will be held August 7. If you would like to serve CSPC in this way, please contact Terry David (380-9466) or Karen Ginn (341-8271).

Bible Presentation - As the children of our congregation become independent readers, the Learning Committee will be providing them with a Bible in a translation they can understand, the International Children’s Bible. The Bibles will be presented during worship, Sunday, September 4 and there is a special role adults in the congregation can play to make this presentation special. If you’d like to help, contact Carol Buckhout (344-0306).
